Ambleside is accessible from many routes of the transport network.
Road - Ambleside sits in the middle of Britain's best National Park about 20 miles from the M6 motorway, on the main A591 route through the Lake District.
Rail - there is a railway station at Windermere (just over 4 miles away). Bus and taxi connections are available from this point.
Air - the nearest airport is Blackpool (45 miles away) but there is a direct rail link between Manchester airport and Windermere station.
